Position (part time -25 hours/week)

The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC is looking for a mission-focused, strategic, self-motivated and well organized professional to serve as its Fundraising & Development Manager. For this part time position, The Gural JCC seeks an individual with experience in setting and executing an annual fundraising and development plan, identifying and developing prospective donors, creating fundraising events and maintaining a donor database. The FRD Manager will also be responsible for maintaining and improving agency marketing including website and social media platforms. The Development Manager will work directly with the CEO and must have the ability to work well with lay leadership and executive staff team.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Leadership
• Collaborate on strategic planning
• Attend Board meetings and partner with the Board to increase their giving and fundraising efforts.
• Work with CEO to set fundraising and development objectives, priorities and fundraising targets.
Fundraising Leadership and Management
• Set and deliver on fundraising targets.
• Identify and assist CEO in fostering relationships with top-priority high-net-worth individual donors, and directly expand the organization’s high-net-worth donor pipeline significantly.
• Ensure robust identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship practices are in place to enable the continued growth of funding from individual, corporate and foundation donor partners.
• Deploy the CEO, Board and other assets for donor cultivation and solicitation.
• Organize, plan and manage all fundraising events.
• Update and maintain the fundraising software to accurately track and report on all fundraising efforts and donor engagement.
• Develop and lead trainings for staff members and lay leaders on fundraising techniques and protocols.
• Liaise with program staff to ensure appropriate pursuit of and follow-through on restricted funding.
• Liaise with finance staff to ensure accurate translation between fundraising and financial functions.
• Liaise with partner organizations to ensure thoughtful and mutually beneficial fundraising at our field sites.
• Engage with and leverage benefit from the Board Development Committee.

Communications and Marketing
• Oversee communications, ensuring clear, compelling and consistent internal and external messaging.
• Oversee media relations, earning coverage for the organization in press and new media.
• Provide communications support across the organization to ensure the development of top-quality collateral.
• Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop communications strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact.
• Serve as executive editor for the organization's website and social media platforms.
• Oversee organizational response to inquiries about the organization.

Qualifications and qualities
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred
• Deep knowledge of fundraising best practices, including compliance and reporting, identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycles, and systems for information and performance tracking
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a focus on cultivating partnerships
• Strong people and team management skills, with a proven record of hiring, training and growing staff
• Standout abilities as a written and verbal communicator, with an approach tailored to diverse audiences and experience creating top-quality development collateral
